Saturday Morning Excitement

I love weekends where the house is full of children. Last night we had three little ladies of 12 over and we had the best time with them. First they wanted Veggie tales, then we made homemade pizza, later an American girl movie followed by playtime with our large barn on the floor and the horse toys, then baked cookies and put them to bed by 10:30. At 8 this morning they were up to the smells of breakfast, they then dressed while I did the kitchen and they rejoined me for Christmas ornament painting at the table while I did breakfast for the family where Chase visited last night and Dh was kind enough to deliver cinnamon rolls, eggs, sausage and egg nog and juice to their home. The girls talked excitedly all morning and it was much fun to visit with them. They are now putting their things back together and we'll deliver them home in thirty minutes or so....a fun overnight!
Today we've been invited to a coworker's home of Dh to have a BBQ in Cullman. We've only met the husband and look forward to knowing the family. He has been a good friend to DH since our arrival for Dh and we hope to deepen that friendship.
Yesterday I had a delightful lunch with our Sunday school teacher's wife at a local Cafe'. It was a great slow down place and we rambled on for over an hour and a half about life in general.....a new friend perhaps....and a lovely lunch....even without a child in sight!
My new hairdo is definately not going to be mistaked for a salon creation, I must must must learn that some things are worth paying for, in most cases an inexpensive cut is not going to fair as well as an experienced stylist....but its just vanity and my hair will grow out again......
God is so good....this morning I was up at 4:30 with a terrible dream. I woke up thanking God the dream was not real.....but God so clearly reminded me it had been real for my brother and his wife a few years ago....to receive a call that their son was in cardiac arrest at 17 at a gym at school.....and shortly after that call died without regaining conscientousness....from a heart defect.....and how while that wound is healing, it is still a never ending loss....a reminder to be kinder this season to all who are aching.
Dh and I dream and desire for more children, at 44/45 it most likely will be through adoption in a couple of years, or perhaps the perpetual fostering of children .....God will lead us....and we will wait upon Him, he knows our hearts.
How thankful I am this morning, for giggling girls, eggnog in fancy glasses, painted nails, and happy faces......how beautiful the morning has been.
God is good....
