Great Moments of 2008

  • waking up to two new puppies eyes opened on Jan 1
  • snowfall in Alabama in our new home...fireplace burning, snow falling heavily
  • long phone calls with a friend catching up as though we hadn't missed a beat
  • having a new friend come for lunch and a short visit
  • having an old friend loan me her three children while she visited other friends
  • little girls giggling in my living room
  • baking and sharing special times with my daughter alone
  • quiet musicless dances with my husband by candlelight
  • reading that a blogger lived very near my new home
  • meeting for the first time a new friend, whom I had read her blog
  • a day spent with that new friend shopping second hand stores with much joy together
  • Easter weekend and making my daughter an outfit for the first time
  • Seeing our son get ready for his first prom
  • Watching our son perservere through a tough trig course
  • The triumph of graduating after moving to a new state for our oldest son
  • Our very first real vacation together as a family and the precious weekend we had
  • Seeing an old friend from Texas at her home and picking up where we left off 7 years ago
  • Opening my own business and recognizing that it was going to work
  • Seeing my husband receive a medal for his work in Kuwait in front of his peers
  • Driving a car that made me feel young again....and taking it home
  • Seeing over and over again how God works in ways we cannot predict
  • Spending a weekend with a cousin, experiencing going home for the first time since Grandma Geddie died
  • Hearing my father's cancer marker had significantly improved
  • Realizing that I do not have to live in fear anymore of a custody battle....it has come and gone....and they are still here.
  • Appreciation of a new friend who always always feeds my soul and brings joy to my day even though we do not often get to "play"
  • Rejoicing when a friend was deemed cancer free and happy in her new marriage
  • Realizing that I can choose to become that which I had always dreamed of...its not too late!
  • Hearing the happy news of a stranger being blessed with an unexpected baby on the way
  • Rejoicing this last night of 2008, knowing it was a good year....that God is good....and tomorrow we are richly blessed with yet another year of blessings to come!
