Amazing! I am so proud of My Husband!

While I was at the Christian Book Expo last week I received an email that absolutely thrilled my heart! My dear husbandLes, who works for the federal government agency called DCMA, was recognized by our government for an award. This is not terribly unusual, my man is THAT kind of worker. He has been in Iraq and Kuwait in the past three years at different six month intervals with our troops as a Department of Defense Administrator with DCMA. As a former Navy man, he loves being where the action is! (unless its of course where the my war on Mt. Washmore occurs!)
However when I started receiving emails about instructions to personally participate and get through the very strict security guidelines to attend this event, I knew it was something more than ordinary! (Most of the time civilians are not allowed past the outside security gates, much less inside where he works in a secured area except on family day once a year, so to be invited and allowed to be there for a ceremony was unprecidented in our personal history with military, government, or DCMA!) We won't talk alot about the scrambling to find my proof of citizenship, the forms of I.D.'s required, the yellow lines I had to stay between, or the three pairs of hose I managed to run before arriving in the pouring rain to be present for the award given.....and by the way....the award was not a simply peer recognition, or department service award it was highest civilian honor one can receive from our United States government, Les was awarded a the beautiful certificate and penned with the medal by Mr. James Hall, of the Denver offices of DCMA in front of his peers as well as by the linked DCMA offices in other locations, it was amazing for Les, who simply tries to keep his head to the grindstone and do right things....we also get paid time off as a bonus part of this prestigious award! (wahoo, Les will be able to paint more rooms and finish to do projects we've planned! Don't you know that thrills his heart...lol) Pictures to come soon! The Defense Contracting Management Agency recognizes your supoprt on the Global War on Terrorism, Operations Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom by providing Contingency Contract Administration, between the dates of September 11, 2001 to date. During this period you demonstrated outstanding leadership, exemplary foresight, professional besaring and provided critical direct support to the United States and Coalition Forces in the United States Central Commands area of responsibility. During this period you also contributed to the sucess of the DCMA in it efforts to provide acquisition and contract support of over 100 task orders valued approximately at over 1.5 Billion dollars. Your efforts have brought great credit upon yourself, the Department of Defense, and the United States of America!

Now I am here to tell you that I am and was one thankful, proud wife.. God is good!..I don't know what Les did naughty to deserve me, but God smote him just the same with me for a wife, but today I am encouraged, and appreciative that people like Les and his peers and administrators are led by God to make the hard decisions to protect our country! To God be this Glory!

(You see, even with the heads of D.C.M.A. and huge programming leaders of our Defense Department Sweetie cannot keep her hands nor mouth shut.....Mr. Hall was kind enough to ask how DCMA could be more inclusive to the families and structures that support his departments' employees...and the hands started flying!) It was a delightful day and one I am SO thankful for, my husband is absolutely my hero and I am proud of his recognitions as well as his heart!
