This morning I woke up in Alabama and my Dear husband and I got my suitcase packed. He's seriously into organization, and I'm seriously not, so he made sure I had the necessary items like shoes, underwear, stuff its embarassing to be without 800 miles from home. A quick stop by Walgreens and to the airport we went. Its about a 80 mile drive to where I was flying out and we had a most pleasant drive from the house together.
Did you know that in Birmingham on a Wednesday they can fill 7 floors of parking decks? I was beginning to panic when we found a spot. Luggage loaded, bags paid for, Dh kissed me goodbye and the adventure began. I had a 2.5 hour wait for Lori when we arrived. God knew I needed the time to read and relax, and the verses in Isaiah were just the ticket. Before I looked up twice, there was my new friend coming through the gate. Lori was more beautiful in person than I can explain, both inside and out. Her smile flashes as an outward sign of the beauty within her. Poor dear, she's stuck with God's Short bus girl, but I recognize her immediately as family in God....she is precious.
The Hotel Indigo is a beautiful place. Floridian palette, light, bright, with it. I loved the rooms black polka dot couches. So me. God knew I needed to see "home" in our suite. About the time we were settled Rachel Anne and Katherine knocked and we were really in the same room. What a beautiful set of hearts entered the suite. Such fun to see them in real life. We travelled to Uncle Julio's for dinner and had entirely too much food and fellowship that lasted until late in the night. God is so present in each of my three friends lives and it was such a blessing to get to see and hear them in person! (and they even let me tag along!)
God is good and fellowship is such a blessing!
Sweetie
