Today I spent 7 hours with Vision Management Forum which was a gathering of 25 or so top international Christian publishers representing 33 countries and an author and one mom from Alabama (me!). Talk about out experienced, educated, and traveled! God so provided me to a place where I could learn from the top where to go to see a ministry succeed at a world publishing level. My first speaker was a magnificent presentor, Robert E Baensch....I could have listened to him teach for days...His understanding of the world market in publishing was amazing with over 40 years experience. His teaching techniques friendly and accomodating as he shared amazing facts on where today's authors, materials, and publishing is going. Information so timely for my ghostwriting clients who are facing a failing paper industry.
Lunch was with David Hayes, head of the Nazarene church Publishing. We had never met, yet God put him in my life at a time that I so needed to hear what he taught me about submitting to God's control of your ministry. My need to know what to do next was released as he shared his life story as a missionary, administrator, builder and publisher. What a thrill to see some of his ministry ideas that are in action for a new thing for all Christians to learn the contents of the Bible....so breathtakingly simple, yet so knowing as an educator that is an amazing gift to God's people!
Later Peter Cunliffe, a fifty year veteran of Christian World Publishing shared his wisdom of the need for God in our writing and publishing. How our publishing and writing effects the world as we know it today by how we teach God's principles in our books. Breathtaking again as I knew God has so put me in a class I was so unprepared for, yet my experience as a mom, stepmom, educator, and blogger was exactly the voice they asked to hear and I was able to share with them how our family/schools/groups use the internet to access the media to get that easy access to relevant information and that then draws us to buy the book via electronic downloads, paper copies or online reading.
God is God and this day has left me brain strained yet beyond excited for what God is doing to prepare my brain for whatever he has next!
God is good, and the short bus girl got a seven hour fast forwafrd learning diploma today in international book sales and publishing by the industry CEO's and leaders! Wheeeeeee!

What a great experience! I love to write. Some day I would love to publish some of my devotions in a book. Lord willing...
Glad you are enjoying your trip!
