Day 1 Recap of a wonderful day!..to be cont...

Its official, I have experienced heaven while attending Christian Book Expo in Dallas. Day one of Christian Book Expo began with getting to the convention center and seeing all the authors checking in and waiting and watching for an hour. We arrived early to make sure we ended up with tickets for worship. My first ah ha moment was with Karen Rabbitt, author of Trading Fathers, Forgiving Dad, Embracing God. I was right in front of her as I had my name badge corrected then later as I was visiting the Wine Press booth I realized ...oh.my.goodness....that's who I was looking for to discuss listing her book on our Stepfamily resources website for ministry leaders: A Joyful Place Called Church. We had a 30 minute 1:1 talk to get to know each other, share goals in ministry, and our life experiences....yes, that was me talking 100 mph as usual and so delighted that the author I had hoped to find had been put directly in front of me (Thanks God!) and we have formed a new alliance to assist each other! (Yeah God) and SHE SENT ME HOME WITH THE BOOK!
Then I sat at the feet of Dr. James Packer, I have no words to tell you how God used Dr. Packer to minister to me on God's love for me, his plan for my life, and the submission aspects to ministry I am facing. Later I was taking a picture with Dr. Packer and teased this gentle spirit about being God's poster boy, and he answered in his dry humor, "God really should have given me a better face if that was his intent" He is one of my heroes of the faith in real life, so to be in a room with 30 people and he answered questions was breathtaking!
Lunch was a hotdog with my friend from the banquet. As we sat there eating The Case for Christ author, joined the two of us to make a three of us....oh.my.gosh. He needed a land line and I made that happen (know the convention center for years as a Mary kay lady) and then got to know him better personally as well! What an amazing part of the day!
Onward to then Dr. John Trent's introduction of HomePointe.com a new interactive program for churches to get the curriculum support into the hands of families to help families live intentionally and connect through church. WOW! It is designed to serve large AND small congregations and is highly personalized for your own church programming. I am so excited for us all what God has built through Dr. Trent. And we are partnering with this project as a step and blended family resource! Yeah!!!
About the time I thought I couldn't stand any more excitement of what God has arranged in our lives, I sat in awe of Sandy Ralya's program on Keeping Romance Alive. Her new book Beautiful Womanhood is amazing!!!
Tonight's worship has to have a post of its own, its already 12:04 and this Cindrella is more like a pumpkin at this hour....sleep well...see you tomorrow!
God is magnificient and so weaving a new tapestry for the family!
